One UI 7 Sneak Peek: Fresh Design, AI Innovations, and Game-Changing Features

Sneak Peek into One UI 7 and Samsung’s Latest AI Innovations

Welcome to SDC 2024! We are thrilled to give you an exclusive sneak peek into the exciting features we’re preparing for the upcoming One UI 7 launch. One UI 7 will bring a completely fresh look to the interface, designed with three core goals in mind.

Simplicity with Purpose:

One UI 7 is designed to be smart, understanding what you’re trying to achieve and reducing complexity. We’ve streamlined the design, making it cleaner, more consistent, and easier to navigate. This will help users focus on what matters without unnecessary distractions.

Impactful and Unique to Galaxy:

We aim to leave an impactful impression through a bold, iconic look that’s distinctly One UI. This fresh aesthetic highlights Samsung’s innovations and ensures a cohesive user experience across all Galaxy devices.

Emotional Connection:

One UI 7 incorporates a more emotional quality into its design, improving how users interact with their devices. With enhanced motion effects and the introduction of our own blur system, we’re elevating user satisfaction by making their digital journey more intuitive and enjoyable.

One exciting example of this is the new home screen grid. It’s sleeker and easier to use, providing a neat home screen experience across all Galaxy devices, while still allowing for full customization. With Good Lock, users can take personalization to a completely new level.

Launch Timeline

This year, you’ll be able to preview One UI 7’s new design and improvements through the One UI 7 beta. The official version, packed with game-changing AI features, will be released next year alongside the latest Galaxy S Series.

AI-Powered Appliances: A Glimpse into the Future

Our bespoke AI appliances are more than just intelligent devices—they respond to real consumer needs. A perfect example is AI Vision in our Family Hub refrigerators. When you’re away from home, such as at the grocery store, you can use your phone to check whether you have vegetables at home and if they’ve expired.

But that’s not all! The same feature can suggest recipes based on what’s in your fridge and even create shopping lists, whether you’re home or on the go.

We’ve also equipped our flagship washing machines, dryers, and ovens with 7-inch screens, making it easier than ever to access AI-powered information like product status, maintenance needs, and energy consumption directly on the device.

Bespoke AI Appliances:

Take our bespoke AI induction hob as an example. You can search for recipes and follow them step by step, directly on the hob screen. Our AI laundry combo even lets you track the wash and dry cycles and can handle tasks like picking up phone calls while you relax.

Bixby: The AI Assistant

If you’re starting to feel tired while watching a movie, just tell Bixby to turn down the volume and turn off the TV after an hour, and it’ll handle the rest. With Bixby, searching for content has never been easier. For instance, if you remember the actor but not the movie title, just say something like, “Show me the musical movie about an aspiring artist in Los Angeles,” and Bixby will figure it out for you.

Additionally, if something seems off with your TV but you’re unsure what to do, ask Bixby, “How do I check if everything is fine with my device?” and it will guide you step by step.

New Features for Smart Devices

Your TV will now automatically wake up when you walk by, displaying essential information like weather, device status, and more. We’re also introducing the Daily Board SDK for our partners, enabling them to feature their content directly on the daily board, reaching more users in a seamless way. Our first partner, Nextdoor, will bring valuable, timely information about local communities right to your screen.

Tizen and AI Advancements

Samsung’s Tizen platform powers a truly intelligent experience on all Samsung TVs and chips. Developers can now create and distribute AI services across various devices using Tizen Machine Learning APIs. Starting from Tizen 9, new APIs will support independent deployment, updates, and version management for AI models. Additionally, Tizen offers a range of vision and language AI SDKs for app developers.

Home Insight and Smart Things Integration

Our Home Insight feature can help you celebrate special moments, like your daughter’s birthday, by filling your home with cheerful music and festive lighting. It’s all part of the seamless SmartThings experience, which now works across all Galaxy devices and AI home appliances. For example, if you own a Galaxy Tab S10, you can create a widget for Map View and Home Insight, transforming it into your personal AI dashboard.

Family Care:

With Family Care, we’re making it easier for families to manage caregiving responsibilities. Caregivers can receive notifications when a loved one opens their fridge, ensuring they’re eating and active. Family Care also provides medication reminders on phones or TVs, with caretakers able to review records to ensure that medicines are taken on time.

Passkeys and Security Enhancements:

We’re expanding Samsung Account Passkeys to mobile and web browsers, allowing users to log in through QR code scanning. Next year, passkeys will be available on even more AI products, including 2025 TVs and home appliances with LCD displays.
